Madonna in Neighbourhood

This evening Madonna is going to be in the neighborhood for her ‘Sticky & Sweet’ world tour concert. It seems there was no other space in Helsinki for the 85,000 people crowd, so for the first time, it is organized by the sea in the empty space of a port, which was shifted few months ago. This is supposed to the largest such concert in Nordics. When I rented the apartment in this district, the biggest excitement was sea at the doorstep. I didn’t know that there would be much more to come. I wish they had given free tickets to all of us who live next door to the concert. This would be the first and last time for such a gig as this empty area would soon be converted into a new residential block.
All the neighbourhood pubs have decked and spruced their counters, and added few extra dispensers for the rush. It is going to be a big evening for them. With a perfect summer day, it looks like a carnival in this part of Helsinki. The official population of this district is 3400, and today it will be joined by 100, 000 more. I could see the city authorities preparing for this event in the past few days. Even the metro will extend their timing till 0200 hours.
During the day, I saw a huge crowd presence out the Kamp Hotel, where Madonna is staying, trying to catch a glimpse of her.
Big Euro spinning evening for all the businesses, even with a rough estimate the total figure would be 11 to 12 Million Euros, including the sales of the tickets. Don't know how much Madonna earns from one such concert?

So. Why did you not go to the concert?

Even though you didn't see her (I assume), did you get to hear her sing? You living next door, and all..

TGFI - This long gap in next post does mean that I am not yet back at blogging. Will try. Yes, the atmosphere was charged, but inside and outside the venue.

Freeze - No,I didn't have the ticket. It was sold out months ago and got sold out in an hour or so.

Abhinav - I just got to hear Ms Ciccone.

"the gir...burp' - I feel almost all her songs are good.
